April 26, 2018

  • Attention Sophomores and Juniors -  A reminder that all National Honor Society forms are due by Monday, April 30, to Mrs. Sankey in room 208 or Ms. Stafford in room 217.
  • The media center will be closed on Friday, April 27, due to the World of Work interviews.

April 25, 2018

  • Attention all students running for SGA.  Remember to sign up for the position for which you are running by the end of the day tomorrow.  Also, please remember that completed self-nomination packets are due to Ms. Sugg by Thursday, May 3.  Please see Ms. Sugg in room 110 if you have any questions.
  • Attention Shakespeare Troupe and Thespians -  We will be having club pictures for yearbook taken immediately after school on Thursday, April 26.  All Thespians old and new should attend.  See Mr. Barker in room 136 for details.
  • Attention Swim Club members - please meet in Portable 4 on Thursday morning, April 26 at 7:10 am to take a group picture.
  • Juniors - This is a reminder that World of Work interviews are scheduled for this Friday, April 27.  Be sure to go to the media center with a copy of your resume at your assigned time and in professional attire.  Appointment passes will be distributed through your English class.  The list of interview times is also posted in the hallway across from the Student Services office.

April 23, 2018

  • Juniors and Seniors - Tickets for After Prom will be on sale all week during lunches for $10.00.  If you are under 18, a parent must sign the permission forms.  Forms and information are available where tickets are sold, and you can also print the forms out at home from PTSA website:  mthebronptsa.com.  There will be an all-you-can-eat Chick-fil-a, Qdoba, Vocelli's, Rita's, cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks coffee drinks and so much more.  Play dodgeball, jump on inflatables, test your luck with casino games, get your caricature drawn, play Fabulous Feud, climb the rock wall, and many more activities.  And did you hear about the prizes?  You have to stay until the end for a chance to win an Apple Watch, X box 1, and PS4 consoles, PlayStation VR, Beats wireless headphones, Under Armour gear packages, a Smart HDTV, many themed baskets designed for juniors and seniors , and big cash prizes!  See you at After Prom!
  • SGA candidates:  Please remember that collection of signatures does NOT begin until this Thursday, April 26th.  Please see Ms. Sugg in room 110 if you have any questions about the SGA election.
  • If you are still in need of service hours to meet your graduation requirement, please consider helping to set up for the AP exams next week.  We are in need of students to help set up the testing area at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene (on Rt. 99 near Patapsco Middle School) on the following dates/times:
    • Sunday, May 6:      7:00 - 10:00 pm
    • Tuesday, May 8:     2:30 - 4:30 pm
    • Friday, May 11:      6:00 - 7:00 am
    • Sunday, May 13:    5:00 - 7:00 pm
    • Monday, May 14:  2:30 - 4:30 pm

April 18, 2018

  • Math team is meeting today after school in Portable 2.  There will be an end of the year celebration, wrap up meeting in Mrs. Kingsley's portable 2.  All math team members should try to attend.
  • On Thursday, April 19, the National Art Honor Society will be holding their annual coffee house - a spring talent show, showcasing individual and group dancing, singing, musical and spoken word.  Admission is $5.00, be there.

  • All MSA students that are attending MIST should meet in Mrs. Odom's room 149 after school on Thursday for a short planning meeting.
  • Do you like to win prizes?  Of course you do!  After-Prom tickets go on sale next week during all lunches.  Follow After-Prom on social media NOW to qualify to win prizes like flowers, sweets, salon visits and manicures.  Search mhhsafterprom2018 on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.  The exact addresses are posted in the front lobby display case on After-Prom.  Visit the PTSA website at mthebronptsa for all information and forms you need for After-Prom.
  • UMBC invites you to SPLASH DAY!  SPLASH DAY is a funfilled day at UMBC where you will have the opportunity to meet new people, learn new things and explore a college campus.  SPLASH DAY will take place on Saturday, April 28 from 830 - 4 pm at UMBC.  See your school counselor for registration information.

  • The Feminism Club is holding our 2nd annual Clean Care Drive for the Marian House Women's Shelter.  Bring in hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.  Collection bins will be in the front hallway, cafeteria, and room 231.  Thank you!

April 11, 2018

  • AP exams are only a month away!  FREE AP Social Studies tutoring will be offered on Wednesdays during Viking time in room 112 leading up to the exams.  Please see your Social Studies teacher to get more information.
  • Future Medical Professions club will be meeting today after school in room 217.  We will be having a CPR demonstration.

April 10, 2018

  • A mandatory Junior assembly will take place in the auditorium during Viking time tomorrow, Wednesday, April 11 to discuss senior portraits!  Please be sure to attend so that you can receive all of the information necessary for next year.  Portrait appointments will start this summer - don't delay and plan ahead!  See Ms. Fischetti in room 232 or email her at lauren_fischetti@hcpss.org with your questions.
  • HEBRON FEST is almost here!  Hebron Fest is a great way to celebrate and experience various cultures in our school and community!  Join us this Thursday, April 12th @ 6:30 pm in the cafeteria  and main gym for food, displays, demonstrations and performances.  We look forward to seeing you there!

April 9, 2018

  • The media center is closed today after school.
  • All cars need to be removed from the lower student lot before 5:00 this afternoon for Marching Unit practice.  Also, the lower lot will be closed to traffic.
  • The next Oyster Gardening club will be this Saturday, April 14.  Meet at the high school at 12:45, leave at 1 pm.  Bring work gloves and boots.

  • The Howard County Police Department will be hosting a free, one week overnight Youth Police Academy, July 8 - 13, at the Public Safety Training Center.  It is for students between the ages of 15 - 18 years old who are interested in a law enforcement career.  The Youth Police Academy replicates the actual Howard County Police Academy.  This experience is designed to help students explore career and leadership opportunities, life skills, and character education.  Students will participate in role playing, practical exercises and physical training.  For more information, contact your School Resource Officer or check out the Howard County Police Department website at www.hcpd.org under Youth Programs.
