December 12, 2017

  • Those students that signed up for Math Assistance today, should report to the media center, right at dismissal.
  • AP Social Studies Students -  Brace yourself, winter is coming!  And while they may seem a long way off, AP tests will be here before you know it.  So come and elevate your performance by attending our 1st AP Social Studies tutoring session on Dec. 14th in room 103 right after school.  If you have any questions, talk to your Social Studies teacher.  #collegecredit
  • Oyster Gardening is this Saturday, Dec. 16th.  Meet at the high school at 12:45 - leave at 1:00 pm.  Dress warmly and bring work gloves.

  • Your next opportunity to see Mt. Hebron's Ice Hockey club in action is Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 3:20 pm at the Garden's Ice House when they take on Atholton.

  • Mt. Hebron's ice hockey club takes on Reservoir this afternoon at 3:20 at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel.  See you there!
  • Writing club will meet after school today in room 231.
  • Robotics team will meet in the Tech Ed. rooms this evening from 6:30 - 9:00 pm.  Parents are welcome to review the upcoming season.
  • Are you interested in being considered to be a delegate to the SMOB convention in the spring?  Please check out the information that it is on the student canvas page.  Applications to be a SMOB delegate are due next Friday, Dec. 15.   Please see Ms. Sugg in room 110 if you have any questions.
  • Are you interested in learning about research, advancements, and internships in the STEM field?  Attend the 2017 Howard County Science in Society Conference to connect with STEM professionals through interactive workshops and networking sessions.  The conference is FREE of charge, and will be held at River Hill High School on December 19th from 6 - 9 pm.  A light dinner will also be provided.

  • One of our alumni, Robert Jett, will be here representing Yale University on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7:45 am.  If you are interested in learning more about Yale, please sign up for the college visit through your Naviance Account.  See your counselor if you need more information.

  • Senior who plan to attend the middle school visits next week - just a reminder that your permission slips are due to Mrs. Flynn by Friday morning.
  • Spirit Wear Sales this Friday!  During all lunch shifts in the front lobby.  Come see the new hoodie and shirt designs.

December 5, 2017

  • The STEM club meeting scheduled for today has been postponed until next Tuesday, Dec. 12.
  • Attn.:  Theater tech - We will be having lighting and stage management after school tomorrow, Wednesday.  We need help getting the lights ready for the concerts.  Be in the theater arts classroom no later than 2:45 to join the fun.
  • Attn.:  Spring Musical Auditioners - if you haven't already done so, please see Mr. Barker, your stage manager, to except your part.  You can also message him through Canvas.
  • Attn.:  Shakespeare troupe - we will have practices today and Thursday from 3 until 5.  Be prepared to have Romeo and Juliet off book.

December 1, 2017

  • Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 5, the After School Activity bus will be available to provide transportation support for students to receive additional academic support from teachers, to receive direct tutoring from both teachers and peers, to make up tests and assignments, to attend SAT Prep classes, to attend support classes, to attend club meetings and to use the Media Center for computer research, homework and quiet study.
    • Students who are not under adult supervision (coach, teacher, club moderator or working in the Media Center) are expected to leave at the end of the school day.
    •  Students are to obtain a bus ticket from the teacher they have stayed with prior to boarding the bus at 3:45 PM.  Bus tickets will not be given outside at the bus.
    • If students finish working with a teacher they are to report to the Media Center where they are to work on homework or other research until 3:45 PM.
  • The Mt. Hebron Debate Club will be holding their first socratic debate, Tuesday, Dec. 5, after school in room 119.  The topic of discussion is Catalan Independence.  Add us on the canvas page for information and resources.  See you there!
