HEBRON HAPPENINGS:

  • INTERIM PROGRESS REPORTS ISSUED ON WEDNESDAY, 3/8
  • CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MT.HEBRON MOCK TRIAL TEAM – on a hard-fought Victory against arch rival Centennial last night.  The Legal Vikings are five-and-one and are on their way to their second county championship in a row.
  • ALL SCHOOLS CLOSE 3 HOURS EARLY ON FRIDAY, 3/10
  • MATH PI DAY IS ON TUESDAY, 3/14 – WE WILL BE RAISING MONEY FOR GRASSROOTS CRISIS INTERVENTION CENTER, HOWARD COUNTY’S ONLY 24-HOUR CRISIS CENTER AND HOMELESS SHELTER.  ON PI DAY, PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING $3.14 OR MORE TO HELP US IN OUR GOAL TO RAISE $2,199 WHICH IS THE AMOUNT TO FULLY STAFF THE  GRASSROOTS CRISIS LINE
  • Student Learning Conference Field Trip – If you submitted a permission slip to  Dr. Kiehl, you must fill out the registration materials before Wednesday, 3/15.  Please stop by before school, after school, or during lunch to take care of this.
  • Spring Musical – West Side Story – Show dates are: 3/17, 3/18, 3/23, 3/24, 2/25 @ 7PM, $10 – Tickets go on sale in the cafeteria during ALL lunch shifts starting on Monday, 3/13.
  • Students who use the Media Center After-School are to sign in on the computers at the Media Center Front Desk.  See Dr. Neugebauer with any questions.
  • AP registration bulletins were distributed to students last week.  If you did not receive a bulletin, please see Dr. Kiehl in room 109.  Registration opens on March 1st and the most up-to-date information regarding registration can be found on Naviance and the school’s website.
  • Free SAT Prep Class Review beginning Tuesday, February 14th.  Eight session review will be held after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays with four sessions focusing on English and four sessions focusing on Math.  Student participants are required to attend all four sessions and abide by classroom norms and regulations set by the teacher.  Each one hour class will begin at 2:40pm and end at 3:40pm.
    • Tuesday Classes:          2/14, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14 – will meet in room 231
    • Thursday Classes:        2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9 – will meet in room 204

  • Students who need help getting on Canvas, see Ms. Richter in the Media Center
  • The Howard County Police Department will be hosting a free, one week overnight Youth Police Academy, July 16th – 21st at the Public Safety Training Center.  It is for students between the ages of 15918 years old who are interested in a law enforcement career.  The Youth Police Academy replicates the actual Howard County Police Academy.  This experience is designed to help students explore career and leadership opportunities, life skills, and character education.  Students will participate in role playing, practical exercises and physical training.  For more information, contact your School Resource Officer or check out the Howard County Police Department website @ www.hcpd.org under Youth Programs.

  • Thursday, 3/9:
    • SGA’s Annual ShakeRock ShakeDown Dance Tickets are $5 – Being sold during ALL lunch shifts (dance is on Friday, 3/10)
    • FBLA – State testing after school in room 003 – there will be one additional testing date the following week.  Members attending States are reminded to pay the registration fee over the next two weeks as payment is due
    • NAHS - Art Club & National Art Honor Society members – meeting after school in room 121 – Please Note We will be meeting every Thursday in March after school - See Mrs. Hannah with any questions.
    • Environmental Club – Trash Pick-up after school – meet in the front lobby @ 2:15 – gloves and bags will be provided.  Come get service hours if you need them.  Make sure to fill out the form for the after school bus if needed.  See Mrs. Mongano (rm225) if you have any questions.
    • Alpha Achievers Executive Board Meeting after school in room 106.  ALL Executive Board Members are expected to attend
    • Attention All Fall & Winter student athletes – if you did not clean out your locker in the Girl’s PE locker room, see Ms. Prevosto TODAY to claim your belongings – any bag(s) not claimed by this afternoon, will go into the lost and found Friday morning.
  • Friday, 3/10:
    • All schools close 3 hours early today

    • Oyster Gardening Club - meeting at the school @ 12:45, leaving the school @ 1:00PM.  Bring work gloves.  Sign-ups will begin on Tuesday, 3/14
